Scientific Advisory Board

 

Emefcy's advisory board includes three leading researchers, specializing in various aspects of microbial fuel cells.

 

Prof. Bruce E. Logan is a Kappa Professor of Environmental Engineering at Penn State University (PSU) and the author of the book "Microbial Fuel Cells". Prof. Logan is considered an authority and opinion maker in the area of microbial fuel cells. During his research career he has published numerous books, articles and journal publications. He received notable awards and is the owner of a number of patents.

 

 

Prof. Derek R. Lovley is a Distinguished Professor and Director of Environmental Biotechnology at the Department of Microbiology at the University of Massachusetts. He is the principal investigator in the Geobacter project (www.geobacter.org), managing eight groups of researchers on different aspects related to geobacter bacteria, which are one of the important species related to microbial fuel cells.

 

 

Prof. Bruce E. Rittmann, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2004, cited for pioneering the development of biofilm fundamentals and contributing to their widespread use in the cleanup of contaminated waters, soils and ecosystems. Dr. Rittmann has previously been a member of the EPA. Science Advisory Board, president of the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors, and vice-chair of the Water Science and Technology Board of the National Research Council. He is the author of more than 300 books and articles, serves as editor-in-chief of the international journal Biodegradation, and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Environmental Science & Technology
